Our SOLIDTEKNICS US-ION skillets are crafted from solid 100% American wrought iron (low carbon mild steel) using our patented process. Each skillet is made from one solid sheet of malleable iron, which won’t warp in high-temperature environments and can never crack as cast iron can. This one-piece design eliminates seams and rivets, giving these high-performance pans additional strength and durability.

Wrought iron is more conductive than common carbon steel, cast iron and stainless steel cookware, allowing US-ION skillets to heat quickly and food to cook evenly and consistently EVERY time. Even the biggest steaks will not cool down on our 5/32" thick, highly conductive iron pans. They sear just like heavier cast iron, but without the unnecessary weight!

Induction-compatible and tough enough for any oven (except microwaves), SOLIDTEKNICS skillets can be used on any cooktop and over open flames. Venting is built into the handle to dissipate heat and keep the handle grip cool to the touch for regular stovetop use and easy transport into the oven.

Our "Quenched" pans are seasoned with a hard, inert layer of rice bran oil and ready to cook! Follow the seasoning and care instructions/videos for care and maintenance. With proper care, the natural, non-stick seasoning will last as long as the pan itself (ie. multiple centuries) and only gets better with time and cooking!

A new era in iron cookware

For US-ION™ we took inspiration from French carbon steel pans — for centuries a chef's favorite — and made ours even better by eliminating the rivets and using more conductive iron. We discovered an innovative way to form a pan body and handle as a single solid monobloc, removing all welds, screws, and the dreaded rivets (the bane of every chef's existence). This seamless wrought construction makes our pans easy to clean, and basically indestructible (you can say goodbye to loose jiggly handles). 

Tough enough?

This is nothing like common thin pressed carbon steel pans. At solid 5/32" (4mm) iron, our thicker pans won't warp under high heat like thin carbon steel pans, which means you can safely cook with any heat source, from induction to roaring campfire. Our wrought iron is also more conductive than carbon steel, cast iron and stainless steel, so our pans heat quickly, and foods cook evenly and consistently, every time. 

Not heavy, so not as much thermal mass as cast iron?

The biggest steaks won't cool down our 5/32" thick, highly conductive iron mass: they sear just like heavier cast iron, without the wasted weight! 

I thought wrought iron was extinct in America?
